Tyson surprised a lot of fitness focused shoppers when it launched the Simple Ingredients line and introduced High Protein Chicken Nuggets with significantly better macros than its standard products. Now it is extending that concept with High Protein Chicken Breast Strips and High Protein Boneless Chicken Bites under the same banner.

What Makes These “High Protein”

Tyson’s original High Protein Chicken Nuggets set the bar by delivering:

  • 23 grams of protein per serving

  • Only 1 gram of carbohydrates

The new strips and bites are not quite as aggressive, but still leaner than typical breaded chicken options. Per serving, they come in at:

  • 20+ grams of protein

  • 8 grams of fat

  • 7 grams of carbohydrates, with only 1 gram of sugar

  • About 180 calories

The ingredient list stays relatively simple, built around chicken breast, wheat flour, chicken broth and seasonings, with fewer extras than some legacy frozen products.

How They Compare To Regular Tyson Products

Compared to Tyson’s existing lightly breaded bites and strips, these new entries are:

  • Slightly higher in protein

  • Modestly lower in carbohydrates

  • Similar in fat and calories

They do not fully match the macros of niche functional brands like Real Good Foods, but they move the mainstream frozen section a bit closer to what gym goers look for.

Why This Is Still A Big Deal

Even if the macros are not perfect, Tyson putting the words High Protein and Simple Ingredients on more bags matters.

Them doing this:

  • Normalizes higher protein, lower sugar options in the frozen aisle

  • Gives shoppers an easier way to upgrade family meals without a full lifestyle overhaul

  • Signals that big food is paying attention to the macro focused trend, not just niche brands

For anyone who already lives on air fryer chicken, these new bags add a couple more quick options to rotate through.
