What’s Happening

Proda, a new protein soda brand, has officially launched its product line exclusively at Sprouts Farmers Market, marking its first major retail rollout.

The brand is positioning itself as a “lifestyle protein-infused soda,” combining traditional soft drink formats with functional nutrition. Each 12 oz can delivers 10 grams of protein and 3 grams of sugar, using whey protein isolate as the primary protein source.

The formula also includes prebiotic acacia fiber alongside standard carbonation and flavoring systems, aligning the product more closely with functional beverages than traditional sodas.

At launch, the lineup includes multiple soda-style flavors such as Classic Orange, Cherry Lime, Lemon Lime, Root Beer, and Golden Apple. The products are available in single 12 oz cans through Sprouts, with pricing listed at $3.49 per can on retailer listings.

The exclusive partnership with Sprouts gives Proda immediate placement within a health-focused retail environment, aligning with the brand’s positioning as a better-for-you alternative to traditional soda.

Why It Matters

Protein soda is emerging as one of the more interesting crossover categories between supplements and mainstream beverages.

By launching directly into Sprouts, Proda is skipping a slow DTC build and instead placing itself in front of a consumer base already familiar with functional and better-for-you products. The combination of soda-style flavors with meaningful protein content positions it as both a replacement for sugary drinks and a supplement-adjacent product.

Bigger Picture

The line between supplements and beverages continues to blur, with more brands introducing functional RTD products that deliver protein, hydration, or other benefits in familiar formats.

Retailers like Sprouts are becoming key launch partners for these products, acting as a bridge between niche wellness brands and broader consumer adoption.
