What's Happening

OWYN has officially expanded into children's nutrition with the launch of OWYN Kidz Dairy-Free Nutrition Shakes, marking the brand's first product specifically designed for younger consumers.

The new ready-to-drink shakes are formulated for kids and feature a creamy Chocolate flavor. Each shake delivers 10 grams of plant-based protein sourced from peas, brown rice, and flaxseed, along with 5 grams of fiber and a blend of 22 vitamins and minerals. The formula also includes choline to support cognitive development as well as nutrients like calcium and vitamin D to help support growing bodies.

Staying true to OWYN's clean-label philosophy, the Kidz shakes are dairy-free, gluten-free, allergen-friendly, and made without artificial colors, flavors, or sweeteners. The company has positioned the product as an option for lunchboxes, after-school snacks, and everyday nutrition for children.

The product is initially launching through Amazon, where it is currently available in Chocolate, with additional flavors expected to follow as the line expands.

Why It Matters

The kids' nutrition category has traditionally been dominated by products that prioritize vitamins and calories over meaningful protein content. OWYN is bringing a plant-based, high-protein alternative to the space, giving parents another option for children with dairy allergies, dietary restrictions, or families looking for cleaner ingredient labels.

The launch also reflects the growing interest in functional nutrition for younger consumers. As parents become more conscious of ingredient quality and nutritional value, companies are developing products that deliver more than basic nutrition while avoiding many of the artificial ingredients commonly found in children's beverages.

Bigger Picture

Plant-based nutrition is continuing to expand beyond adult-focused products and into family-oriented categories. What began with protein powders and meal replacement shakes has evolved into products tailored for athletes, seniors, and now children, demonstrating how broad the market for plant-based nutrition has become.

OWYN's expansion into kids' beverages highlights another major trend shaping the food industry: personalization by life stage. Rather than creating one product for everyone, brands are increasingly developing specialized formulas that address the nutritional needs of specific age groups, helping functional nutrition become part of everyday family routines instead of remaining limited to sports nutrition.
