What's Happening
NOBULL has dropped four new colorways for its Journey 2 daily running shoe, refreshing the recently launched model just in time for summer. Announced June 26, the new colors are Classic White Cayenne, Classic White Signal Pink, Lunar Mineral White, and Blue Haze, available now at nobullproject.com for $150 per pair in both men's and women's sizing.
The Journey 2 itself is NOBULL's comfort-first everyday running shoe. It uses a plate-less design for a naturally smooth, cushioned ride, a multi-surface outsole for grip across varied terrain, and NOBULL's stability chassis to lock the foot in through each stride. Each pair is built with a breathable engineered knit upper and a soft internal forefoot bootie for step-in comfort, an EVA footbed for underfoot cushioning, and a TPU heel clip for stability. The brand markets it as a "no break-in required" shoe. The four new colors expand what was already a nine-colorway lineup at launch.
Why It Matters
A colorway refresh is a small release, but it reflects a real strategic shift for NOBULL. The brand built its identity on CrossFit and the gym, and the Journey line represents its push into running and everyday wear, a much larger market. Positioning the Journey 2 around comfort, durability, and daily versatility, explicitly "for those who value comfort more than hype or PRs," is NOBULL trying to broaden from a hardcore-training brand into a lifestyle and daily-mileage player. New seasonal colors are how footwear brands keep a model visible and fresh between major launches.
The timing and framing matter too. Dropping vibrant summer colorways is a classic move to drive impulse purchases and keep a shoe in the social-media conversation during peak wear season. For a shoe pitched at the casual, comfort-seeking runner and the athleisure crowd, aesthetics and color variety are a genuine part of the value proposition, not an afterthought, since many buyers will wear these to the gym, on errands, or to the airport as much as on a run.
Bigger Picture
NOBULL's expansion into running is part of its evolution under new ownership. In 2023, serial entrepreneur Mike Repole acquired a majority stake in the brand, and it has since pushed aggressively beyond its CrossFit roots into apparel, nutrition, and running footwear. The Journey line is central to that diversification, an attempt to compete in the enormous everyday-running and lifestyle-sneaker categories against the likes of HOKA, Brooks, and On, rather than staying boxed into functional-fitness gear.
The broader context is the continued blurring of running performance and casual style. Running shoes have become default everyday footwear for millions, and brands are leaning into both performance materials and lifestyle-driven colorways to capture that dual use. NOBULL adding fresh summer colors to a comfort-focused, plate-less daily trainer fits squarely in that trend, and having drawn attention from high-profile fans, including Tom Brady calling the Journey his favorite shoe, the brand is betting its training-world credibility can translate into everyday-running relevance. A steady cadence of colorways keeps that momentum going.
