What's Happening
Misfits has officially launched Misfits Stuffed, a new line of protein bars featuring creamy filled centers wrapped in milk chocolate and finished with crispy protein crunch. The launch marks the brand's biggest product expansion since introducing its original plant-based protein bars. The new lineup debuts with three flavors: Peanut Butter, Chocolate Frosting, and Salted Caramel.
Unlike Misfits' original vegan bars, the Stuffed line uses a whey and collagen protein blend, delivering 17g of protein and 170 calories per bar while maintaining the brand's candy-inspired approach to texture and flavor. Each bar features a soft filled center, a milk chocolate coating, and a crunchy protein crisp layer.
The launch represents a significant shift for the company, which built its reputation on plant-based protein bars. Misfits will continue selling both product lines, allowing consumers to choose between its original vegan bars and the new dairy-based Stuffed collection.
The new bars are available individually and in variety packs through the Misfits website.
Why It Matters
Misfits Stuffed reflects one of the biggest trends in functional snacking: making protein bars feel indistinguishable from candy bars.
Rather than focusing solely on macros, brands are investing heavily in texture, layered fillings, and indulgent flavor experiences. Stuffed centers, chocolate coatings, and crispy inclusions are becoming increasingly common as companies compete to win consumers who previously avoided protein bars because of their chalky texture or artificial taste.
The launch is also notable because it expands Misfits beyond its original plant-based identity. By introducing a whey-based line with higher protein content, the company can appeal to consumers prioritizing performance and protein intake while continuing to serve its existing vegan audience.
It also highlights how the protein bar category continues to blur the line between confectionery and sports nutrition. Consumers increasingly expect products that deliver meaningful protein without sacrificing the eating experience, and brands are responding with more dessert-inspired innovation.
Bigger Picture
The protein bar category is evolving from functional nutrition into premium snacking, with brands competing on taste, texture, and indulgence just as much as protein content.
Misfits Stuffed reflects this shift, showing how companies are expanding beyond traditional protein bars to create products that closely resemble candy while still delivering performance-focused nutrition.
