Liquid I.V. and Grillo’s Pickles have launched a limited-edition Grillo’s Pickles Hydration Multiplier, a pickle-flavored electrolyte mix sold in 10-pack pouches. Liquid I.V. says the flavor blends vinegar, cucumber, dill, and a touch of sweetness, while Foodbeast notes the launch grew out of what initially looked like an April Fools’ concept.

Liquid I.V.’s product page says the mix delivers 3x the electrolytes of the leading sports drink and is available exclusively on Liquid-I.V.’s website for a limited time. The company also recommends mixing one stick with 8 ounces of water, which is different from the larger dilution some hydration powders suggest.

Why It Matters

This is a novelty collab, but it is also rooted in a real consumer behavior. Pickle juice has been a recurring point of interest in sports and heat-exposure conversations because of its salt content, so the flavor choice is strange in a way that still makes sense for hydration.

Bigger Picture

Functional beverage brands are increasingly willing to embrace weird flavors if the internet is already halfway there for them. Liquid I.V. took a niche hydration obsession and converted it into a high-attention drop that people will talk about whether they buy it or not.
