What’s Happening
Liquid I.V. has launched a new Ring Pop Cherry flavor as part of its Hydration Multiplier Sugar-Free line, marking a co-branded collaboration that brings a nostalgic candy profile into the hydration category.
The product is a powdered electrolyte drink mix designed for single-serving use, with each stick intended to be mixed into water for fast, on-the-go hydration. It delivers 3x the electrolytes of leading sports drinks and includes eight vitamins and nutrients, while remaining completely sugar-free.
The flavor is built to replicate the classic Ring Pop cherry candy, described as a bold, sweet-tart cherry profile with a candied finish, while still fitting into Liquid I.V.’s hydration-focused formula.
The product uses the brand’s LIV HYDRASCIENCE™ system, which is positioned to hydrate faster than water alone, and is made without artificial sweeteners while also being non-GMO, vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free, and soy-free.
It is available in multi-stick packs through Liquid I.V.’s website and major retailers, continuing the brand’s push into mainstream distribution with functional hydration products.
Why It Matters
This launch is a clear example of how hydration is evolving beyond basic functionality into a flavor-driven, experience-focused category. Electrolyte products are no longer just about performance or recovery, they are increasingly competing on taste, branding, and emotional connection.
The Ring Pop collaboration leans directly into nostalgia, which has become a major driver in CPG innovation. By recreating a recognizable candy flavor, Liquid I.V. is targeting both new consumers and existing users looking for something more engaging than traditional sports drink flavors.
It also reinforces the shift toward sugar-free hydration. Consumers are still prioritizing electrolytes and performance benefits, but with increasing demand for zero-sugar options that don’t sacrifice taste. This product positions itself directly at that intersection.
From a format standpoint, single-serve stick packs continue to dominate the hydration space because of convenience. They are portable, easy to use, and fit into daily routines without requiring preparation, making them more practical than ready-to-drink options for many consumers.
At the same time, the inclusion of vitamins alongside electrolytes reflects the growing overlap between hydration and broader wellness, where products are expected to deliver multiple functional benefits in one serving.
Bigger Picture
Hydration is becoming one of the most competitive categories in supplements and functional beverages, with brands pushing into new territory through collaborations, flavor innovation, and lifestyle positioning.
Products like Ring Pop Cherry show how legacy candy and beverage flavors are being reimagined for modern wellness, helping brands stand out in a crowded market while expanding beyond traditional sports nutrition audiences.
