What’s Happening

Gorilla Mind has officially released its new Root Beer flavor for its Gorilla Mind Energy Drink, adding a classic, soda-inspired option to its growing lineup of functional beverages.

The launch follows a buildup that began with a Sarsaparilla-themed teaser around April Fools, which ultimately transitioned into a full Root Beer release. The flavor is designed to replicate the smooth, creamy, and traditional taste profile of root beer while maintaining the brand’s established energy drink formula.

The Root Beer variant uses the same base formula as the rest of the Gorilla Mind Energy line. Each can includes 200mg of caffeine along with a nootropic-focused ingredient profile that features compounds such as alpha-GPC, uridine monophosphate, L-theanine, saffron extract, and huperzine A, all aimed at supporting energy, focus, and cognitive performance.

The product is sold in 12-can cases through the brand’s website, priced at $34.99 per case.

The Root Beer flavor joins an extensive lineup that already includes options like Blue Raspberry, Strawberry Candy, Black Cherry Vanilla, and Rainbow Sherbet, continuing the brand’s strategy of pairing strong flavors with a performance-focused formula.

Why It Matters

This release shows continued innovation in the energy drink category through flavor rather than formulation changes.

Root beer is a less common profile in modern energy drinks, giving Gorilla Mind a way to stand out in a crowded market while still appealing to familiar, nostalgic taste preferences.

Bigger Picture

Energy drink brands are increasingly leaning into nostalgic and soda-inspired flavors to differentiate in a saturated space.

By combining these flavors with nootropic-heavy formulas, brands are positioning their products as both performance tools and lifestyle beverages, expanding their appeal beyond traditional pre-workout use cases.
