What’s Happening

Garmin has officially launched the CIRQA Smart Band, the company's first screen-free health and fitness wearable. Designed for users who want continuous tracking without another screen, CIRQA collects health and recovery data around the clock while displaying all insights inside the Garmin Connect app.

The smart band tracks heart rate, HRV status, Body Battery™, stress, Pulse Ox, respiration, skin temperature, sleep stages, sleep score, naps, and women's health metrics, providing a comprehensive picture of daily recovery and overall wellness. It also supports more than 80 activity profiles, workout tracking, VO₂ max, training readiness, training status, workout benefit, and recovery time.

Unlike a traditional smartwatch, CIRQA can be worn on either the wrist or upper arm and is designed to work alongside Garmin's smartwatch lineup. Users can wear a Garmin watch during workouts and switch to CIRQA for sleep or all-day recovery tracking. The band delivers up to 10 days of battery life and features a physical button for starting activities.

One of the biggest differentiators is that no subscription is required. All core health and fitness metrics are available through Garmin Connect without a recurring membership, positioning CIRQA as an alternative to subscription-based recovery wearables. The device launches at $199.99 in multiple colors and two sizes.

Why It Matters

CIRQA reflects the rapid growth of the screen-free wearable category, where consumers are looking for detailed recovery insights without the distractions of a smartwatch.

Rather than competing on notifications or apps, Garmin is focusing on passive health tracking and recovery. The ability to collect advanced sleep, HRV, and readiness data while leaving a smartwatch on the charger addresses a growing demand among athletes and everyday users who prefer a more minimalist wearable.

The lack of a required subscription is another major differentiator. As recovery wearables become more popular, recurring membership fees have become common. Garmin is instead leveraging its existing Garmin Connect ecosystem to provide advanced analytics without locking core features behind a monthly payment.

For existing Garmin users, CIRQA also extends the company's ecosystem by providing another way to collect continuous health data while integrating seamlessly with Garmin watches and training metrics.

Bigger Picture

Recovery has become just as important as training, and wearable technology is evolving to reflect that shift.

Garmin's CIRQA demonstrates how fitness brands are moving beyond feature-heavy smartwatches and into specialized recovery devices that prioritize long-term health, sleep, and readiness while minimizing distractions.
