What’s Happening

Basic Supplements has introduced Basic EAA, a new essential amino acid formula designed to support muscle recovery, protein synthesis, and hydration around training.

Each scoop delivers a combined 7g of all nine essential amino acids, including leucine, isoleucine, valine, lysine, threonine, phenylalanine, histidine, tryptophan, and methionine. Unlike a traditional BCAA supplement containing only three branched-chain amino acids, the new formula provides the complete group of essential amino acids the body cannot produce on its own.

Basic EAA also packs 970mg of electrolytes, including sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and chloride, adding a hydration component for use during workouts.

The formula is rounded out with a broad range of B vitamins, including niacin, B6, B12, folate, thiamin, riboflavin, biotin, and pantothenic acid.

Basic Supplements positions the product primarily as an intra-workout, although it can be used before, during, or after training. Each serving consists of one 11.5g scoop mixed with eight ounces of cold water.

The new formula is also sugar-free and vegan-friendly and launches at $34.99, joining Basic BCAA, Hydration, Glutamine, protein, and other products across the brand's growing recovery lineup.

Why It Matters

The launch gives Basic Supplements a more comprehensive amino acid option alongside its existing BCAA formula.

While BCAAs provide leucine, isoleucine, and valine, Basic EAA includes all nine essential amino acids, giving athletes access to the complete group involved in protein synthesis and muscle recovery.

Adding 970mg of electrolytes also makes the formula more than a standalone amino acid supplement. By combining EAAs with sodium, potassium, magnesium, calcium, and chloride, Basic is positioning the product for both recovery and hydration during training.

The launch also fits the company's straightforward approach to sports nutrition, expanding its lineup with another foundational category rather than building an overly complicated all-in-one performance formula.

Bigger Picture

Intra-workout products are increasingly combining multiple training needs as athletes look for convenient ways to support hydration and recovery within the same drink.

Basic EAA reflects that shift, pairing a complete nine-amino-acid profile with nearly 1,000mg of electrolytes in a simple formula designed to fit directly into an existing training routine.
