What’s Happening

Barebells has introduced two new additions to its protein bar lineup: Campfire S’mores and Mint Chocolate Crisp.

The Campfire S’mores flavor combines chocolate, marshmallow, and graham-style flavors and appears to be part of the company’s Soft Protein Bar line, with early listings pointing to a GNC-exclusive launch. Meanwhile, Mint Chocolate Crisp is already available through Barebells’ online store.

Nutrition-wise, Mint Chocolate Crisp delivers 16 grams of protein, 23 grams of carbohydrates, 5 grams of fiber, and 2 grams of sugar with zero added sugar per bar. Like other Barebells products, the bar uses a milk protein blend designed to deliver a candy-bar-like texture rather than the chalky consistency often associated with high-protein snacks.

Why It Matters

Barebells has built one of the strongest reputations in the protein bar category by focusing heavily on taste-first products that blur the line between functional snacks and traditional candy bars.

Dessert-inspired flavors like s’mores and mint chocolate continue to dominate the category because they tap directly into familiar indulgent flavors while still delivering respectable protein content. With protein bars becoming an increasingly crowded space, flavor innovation is one of the biggest ways brands differentiate themselves.

Barebells leaning further into nostalgic dessert concepts signals that the “treat replacement” positioning of protein bars is still a major growth strategy for functional snack brands.
