Dietary restrictions can make snacking difficult. We’ve rounded up the best gluten-free protein bars to make it easy.
Avoiding gluten is challenging. Yes, it’s easier now than it’s ever been before, but that still doesn’t make it “easy” – especially when it comes to snack foods. As someone who's gluten-free and also likes to fuel quickly after a workout, I’ve struggled to find bars that taste good, don’t contain gluten, and aren’t filled with a bunch of gross artificial ingredients. While it’s been a struggle at times, I’ve managed to find a few bars that have become my go-tos. Keep reading to see which ones made the list.
Battle Bars
These protein bars are actually some of the best I’ve ever tried. Flavor-wise, they’re top notch, but I also love that they’re antioxidant- and collagen-infused. It’s like a superfood and a protein bar, all packed into one. All their bars except for the Cookies & Cream flavor are gluten-free. And the best part: they’re veteran-owned.
No Cow Protein Bars
Not only are these protein bars gluten-free, but they’re also Kosher, Non-GMO, Soy-Free, and vegan. They contain only 1 gram of sugar – they’re sweetened with a blend of monk fruit and stevia – and 20-22 grams of protein (depending on the flavor). Now I’m going to level with you – some of these bars taste like you’re eating chalk, so the flavor really makes a difference. Take it from someone who has tried them all: the Blueberry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Lemon Meringue Pie, and Birthday Cake bars are the best if you like a soft and chewy texture.
NuSkool Krunch Bars
NuSkool’s Krunch Bars are like the gluten-free, keto candy bar of your dreams – except they’re actually not candy. In fact, they’re packed with 10 grams of protein, 7 grams of fiber, and only 3 grams of net carbs. With flavors like French Toast, Caramel Sea Salt, and Strawberry Swirl, they’re the perfect on-the-go healthy breakfast replacement or post-gym snack.
Epic Meat Bars
If you’re looking for something more savory, Epic Meat Bars are a great option. Available in a handful of different flavors including Beef Apple Bacon, Beef Sea Salt + Pepper, and Chicken Sriracha, these bars taste more like a meal than a dessert-like snack. Each bar offers something a little different, meaning there’s plenty to choose from regardless of your dietary restrictions.
88 Acres Seed Protein Bars
Finding a gluten-free protein bar that’s also nut-free is like finding a needle in a haystack. Luckily, 88 Acres has saved us with their seed-based protein bars. With 12 grams of protein per bar and no artificial ingredients, these soft and chewy bars make a perfect snack for anyone looking to avoid the Big-8.
